What's the Buzz: Build a bluebird box or do the Bunny Hop in Byesville

Pick any one of the events happening in and around the area to keep your week busy. I’ll be highlighting attractions, activities, and festivals right here, every week. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to check all activities, as cancellations can occur. The events listed are for March 23 to April 1.

Saturday

Jarron Sollee. Enjoy the views and vino at Georgetown Vineyards, all while listening to Lancaster native Jarron Sollee. According to the Facebook event page, "Sollee lays a unique blend of iconic music from the '80s, '90s, 2000s, new rock and classic rock. He sings and plays an acoustic Martin guitar while using a Cajon kick pedal, a looper pedal, and a vocal chorus and harmonizer." Easter Bunny Breakfast. The Byesville Rotary will host Breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Stop Nine Church of Christ Senior Center. The pancake, egg, sausage, juice, and milk or coffee breakfast is $6. Breakfast for children 5 and under is free with the purchase of an adult breakfast. Deerassic Park’s Wild Wednesday. Join Stacy Garrett and learn everything you need to know about bluebirds and build your very own bluebird box to take home. This event will be held in the new Education Center classroom. The event is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free, but there is a $10 charge for anyone wishing to construct a bluebird box. Tickets can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com. April 1

Byesville Bunny Hop. Hop on down to Second Street in Byesville for the Bunny Hop. Kids can visit local businesses and receive a treat at each one. Each business will be randomly giving out one lucky golden egg to win a gift card, basket, etc. This free, family-friendly event is scheduled to run from 2 to 3 p.m., and at the time of writing, there are 14 businesses participating.   • Friday. Wheeling Polka Festival. Strike up the music and enjoy a polka-filled weekend in Wheeling. Check out polka groups Polka Family Band, NuTones, The Beat, The Boys, John Gora Band, and more. Try your hand at some traditional dancing or find a new favorite Polish food. The event is scheduled to run all weekend. Three-day passes are available for $49, or buy day passes individually.
