What's the Buzz: Neal McCoy to perform free concert in Cadiz

Country music legend Neal McCoy will be performing a free concert to celebrate the grand opening of The Mark at the Park, a new outdoor music venue located at Sally Buffalo Park in Cadiz on June 1. The event is being put on by Penningtons and the WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital. Food and beverages trucks will be available and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place as well. The gates open at 4 p.m., with the festivities beginning at 6 p.m. At the time of writing, additional performers have not been named. For more information call Penningtons at 740-946-5040.   • Head to the Guernsey Brewhouse on Sunday for the cornhole tournament. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and there is a $20 charge per team to register. For more information call 740-995-3467. Guernsey Brewhouse, 4550 Bloomfield Road, Cambridge.

  • The Robert T. Secrest Post #2901 of the VFW in Cambridge is hosting the Memorial Day parade at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 29 in Cambridge. The parade lineup begins at 9 a.m. and the parade will travel west down Wheeling Avenue beginning at 10 a.m. Guernsey County Common Please Court Judge Dan Padden will address the crowd at the courthouse following the parade.   • Deerassic will host the first of three youth fishing derbies on June 2. The cost to register is $10 and the event is open to youth ages 5 to 15. Fishing poles, bait and equipment will be provided. Youth participants will receive a $10 gift card to the Deerassic gift shop upon arrival and all youth participants receive a free fishing pole.   • The Secrest Summer Concert Series returns with Thunderstruck, America's AC/DC Tribute Band on Thursday, June 1 in downtown Zanesville.
