What's the Buzz: Rock out this Christmas or meet Santa at a castle

Pick any one of the events happening in and around the area to keep your week busy. I’ll be highlighting attractions, activities, and festivals right here, every week. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to check all activities, as cancellations can occur. Christmas at the Castle. Running through Dec. 24, Landoll's Mohican Castle gets transformed into a magical winter wonderland. Christmas at the Castle − a Kingdom of Lights with more than 150,000 lights, outdoor Christmas trees, music and Santa Claus − returns once again. The man in red willl visit with chilrdren on Friday and Saturday night from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission on Friday and Saturday is $8 per car and free all other evenings. Guests can purchase a pass in advance at www.eventbrite.com. Peruse the grounds, stop for photos and just take in the lights before grabbing a bite at the on-site restaurant, The Copper Mug Grille. Trans-Siberian Orchestra − The Ghosts of Christmas Eve. Ready for a rockin' Christmas? Nationwide Arena will behosting the quintessential Christmas rock group, Trans Siberian Orchestra (TSO). According to the Facebook event page, "The story is set on Christmas Eve when a young angel is sent to Earth to bring back what is best representative of humanity. The album and tour feature such fan-favorites as “Ornament” and the epic “Old City Bar." The rock opera also features such TSO classics as "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24," "O’ Come All Ye Faithful," "Good King Joy," "Promises To Keep," and "This Christmas Day." Additionally, the tour will enjoy a new second set containing some of TSO’s greatest hits and fan-pleasers including "Christmas Canon," “Wizards In Winter” and many more." Tickets start at $52.50. The Nightmare Before Christmas Rock Party. Want to keep it closer to home? Check out The Barn in Zanesville for a themed holiday party. Join DJ Huffy and celebrate the season with a Nightmare Before Christmas rock party. The party is scheduled to run from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. For more information call 740-455-2276. Salt Fork New Years' Eve Celebration. The annual Salt Fork Lodge New Year’s Eve Party has fun for the whole family. Kids can enjoy arcade games and make their own specialty drinks at the hot chocolate bar. Movie screening will be taking place and the 21 plus party will be located in the Wildlife Lounge from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. For additional details visit https://www.saltforkparklodge.com.
