What's on the fall general election ballot in Coshocton County?

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Board of Elections recently certified the ballot for the Nov. 7 fall general election.

There will be several competitive races, issues and property tax levies for local voters to decide. Here is a quick look as to what will be on the ballot.

Competitive races

City of Coshocton

● Incumbent Democrat Mark Mills is being challenged for mayor by Republican Tom Heading. Heading won the Republication nomination in the spring primary over Stan Braxton.

● Incumbent Democrat Robert Skelton is being challenged for law director by Republican attorney William Todd Drown. Drown lost the Republican primary for judge of Coshocton County Common Pleas Court in spring 2022. He also lost previous bids for judge of Coshocton County Common Pleas Court and Juvenile and Probate Court as a Democrat.

● Four people are running for three at-large seats on Coshocton City Council. The incumbents are Democrat Michelle Turner Ganz and Republicans Thomas Barcroft and Jim Kreis. Kreis was appointed to council earlier this year to replace the resigned Glenn Mishler. The other candidate is Republican Robert Leist who lost two previous bids for council at-large as an independent.

● Five people are running for three seats on the Coshocton City Schools Board of Education. The incumbents are Sam Bennett, Philip Hunt and David Shutt. They are challenged by Kelly Bratton and Stacey Ganz.

● Incumbent Republican Roger Moore is being challenged for the 3rd Ward seat on city council by Michael Cutshall, who filed as an independent.

Villages

● Jennifer McFarland and Darcy Rehm are running for Mayor of Conesville. Current Mayor Marge Donley did not file for reelection.

● Incumbent Stephen Bordenkircher is being challenged for Mayor of West Lafayette by Tyler Maple and Jessica Tubbs.

● There are four people running for three seats on the River View Local Schools Board of Education in Warsaw. The incumbents are Evan Fischer, Gail Gallwitz and David Lapp. They are being challenged by former board member D. Cordell Brown.

Township trustees

● James Hoy, Pat Snyder and Michael Varns are running for one seat in Bethlehem Township.

● Mark McCombs Sr., Benny Patterson and Zane Tope are running for one seat in Clark Township.

● Larry Boal, Devin Donley, Ken Jennings and Jackie Umstead-Ortt are running for one seat in Franklin Township. Heather Cox and Cindy McVey are running for Franklin Township fiscal officer.

● David Lee Babcock and Gary Buchanan Jr. are running for one seat in Lafayette Township. Michael Gress and Joseph Mike Powell are running for an unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2025.

● Jack Arnold and Jack Roub are running for one seat in Monroe Township.

● Kimberly Hall and Jennifer Milligan are running for fiscal officer of Oxford Township.

● Rodney Martin and Andrew Prouty are running for one seat in Perry Township. Kellyn Donaker and Amy Martin are running for Perry Township fiscal officer.

● Tracy Brown and Kyle Lee Wilson are running for one seat in Pike Township.

● Karen Dart, Lynn Haines and Gwendolyn Jones are running for Tiverton Township fiscal officer.

● Heather Moore and Roberta Moore are running for fiscal officer of White Eyes Township.

Property tax levies

All are renewals unless otherwise noted

● Adams Township - 2 mills for general construction

● White Eyes Township - 1 mill for fire protection

● Clark Township - 1 mill additional for road resurfacing and repairs

● Virginia Township - 2.5 mills for road improvements

● Lafayette Township - 1 mill for current expenses

● Walhonding Valley Fire District - 1.5 mills for equipment and buildings

● Village of Warsaw - 2 mills for current expenses

● City of Coshocton 2.4 mills for roads and bridges.

Coshocton County

● 1.25 mills for the Coshocton Senior Center

● 0.8 mills for the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board

● 1 mill for Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services

● 2 mills for 911 emergency services

Other issues

● The City of Coshocton is seeking gas and electric aggregation. Coshocton County is seeking electric aggregation.

● Hickory Flats Golf Course is seeking sale of beer, wine, mixed beverages and spiritous liquor along with Sunday sales.

● Mossy's Corner is seeking sale of beer, wine and mixed beverages and Sunday sales.

● Bell Stores is seeking alcoholic beverage sales on Sundays.
