Maple Weekend Taste & Tour
The Somerset County Maple Producers annual Taste & Tour in and around Somerset County is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 12-13. Visit any or all sugar camps for free tours and sample maple products. Maple products will also be available to purchase. Visit somersetcountymaple.org for the list of participating camps.
CACCC
Community Arts Center of Cambria County offers a variety of shows, classes and workshops. Unpredictable exhibit by Mark Ed from March 5 until April 29. Check out schedule of activities at www.caccc.org.
Bite of the Burg
During Restaurant week March 12-19, participating restaurants will be offering featured specials, deals and all the best food and drinks in downtown Frostburg, Maryland.
Bingo
Bingo at the Meyersdale Elks Lodge March 13. Doors open at noon with early bird bingo at 1 p.m. for an additional cost. Regular bingo starts at 2 p.m. Basket raffle and 50/50 tickets will be available when doors open. Concession stand will be open. Proceeds to benefit the Relay For Life teams of Meyersdale, Salisbury and Berlin.
W.A.C.K. meal
A free community dinner, served at the Windber Area Community Kitchen (W.A.C.K.), will be held from 4-6 p.m. March 12, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1800 Stockholm Ave., Windber.
The menu will be meat loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, fruit, bread and dessert.
The meal will be sponsored and served by Interim Healthcare of Johnstown.
Soup'er Bowl Event
Laurel Arts presents the Soup'er Bowl Event fundraising lunch to benefit the Somerset County Mobile Food Bank, the Humane Society of Somerset County and the Laurel Arts Clay Studio, noon to 2:30 p.m. March 19.
For a donation of $20, attendees select a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted bowl made by local artists and receive a simple meal of soup, bread, cookies and a beverage, all donated by local restaurants. The clay bowls are taken home to serve as a reminder that soup feeds the body, but art feeds the soul.
All meals will be served as take-out instead of dine-in this year at the Laurel Arts Education & Dance Center, 601 Georgian Place, Somerset. There will be no advanced ticket sales. All tickets will be sold at the door the day of the event. Cash preferred.
Spring Basket Party
A spring basket party to benefit Nardecchia Spay/Neuter Fund is March 27, at the Richland Fire Hall, 1321 Scalp Ave., Richland. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Drawings start at 2 p.m.
More than 100 baskets, lottery tree, money tree and basket of cheer. A $12 donation includes 25 basket tickets and a light lunch. Bring a bag of cat or dog food and receive 25 extra basket tickets free. No canned food. No treats. Bags must be three pounds or more. Pet food is donated to local pet food pantries.

A chicken dinner/basket raffle to benefit Larry Deneen is from 5-8 p.m. April 22, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 23 at the Central City Polish Club, 921 Main St., Central City. Live drawing on Facebook at 4 p.m.

Pysanky Egg Tutorial Class
The Windber Municipal Authority Pysanky Egg Tutorial Class is 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 9. Sign up on Vagaro.com (Windber BC Fitness Program) to attend. Space is limited. During the class to create a traditional and folklore pattern on a pre-prepared chicken egg and then dye.
The Genesis Experience
The Genesis Experience concert remembers the timeless hits of both Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins eras of Genesis, coming at 7:30 p.m. March 29, at The State Theatre, 37 East Main St., Uniontown. Renew 2022
The Oak Dale Church in Salisbury, will hold "RENEW 2022," its annual women's retreat from 6-9 p.m. March 25, and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 26. Food and fellowship from 6-7 p.m. Friday, Lunch provided on Saturday.

The Somerset Area School District Show is March 8-24, at Laurel Arts in Somerset. Reception will be from 2-4 p.m. March 13.
35th annual College & Technical Fair
The 35th annual College & Technical Fair, sponsored by the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce and the Somerset County Foundation, is from 9 a.m. to noon April 5, at the Somerset County Technology Center, 281 Technology Road, Somerset.
Information will be available on educational opportunities after high school, upgrading work skills, skills and training required to enter specific careers and planning your child's future. Representatives from local businesses will be available to answer questions concerning local high demand occupations and training required.

Ham loaf sale/ham loaf take-out dinner
The ham loaf sale at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 335 Locust St., Johnstown, is sold out as of March 2.
St. Mark’s is holding a ham loaf dinner take-out only is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 12. Each meal includes ham loaf, parslied potatoes, green beans and cake. All meals must be ordered in advance. To order take-out dinners, call 814-535-6797 or email stmarks@atlanticbbn.net.

Boswell Volunteer Fire Department fish fry fundraiser is from 5-8 p.m. or until sold out March 11, at the Boswell Firemen's Grove. Dinner includes baked or fried fish, mac 'n cheese, haluski or pierogies, coleslaw or applesauce, dinner roll and dessert. Eat in or take out.

Craft Show
Craft show at Rock City Cafe, 671 Main St., Rockwood, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. April 2, and noon until 4 p.m. April 3. Food will be available. There will be a silent auction to benefit the food pantry. Rock City will be take out only on Saturday.
Conservation 50th anniversary tree and plant sale
The Conservation District tree and plant sale offers items for landscaping and gardening needs. The catalog and a fillable order form can be accessed on the website at cambriaconservationdistrict.org or visit the Cambria County Conservation District Facebook Page. The deadline for orders is March 25 with payment. Orders need to be picked up on April 22, at the American Legion Cambria County Fairgrounds Agriculture Building, in Ebensburg from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Proceeds support local conservation efforts and environmental education programs.
Mural
The mural featuring our high-flying friends, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, has landed in Johnstown, and a series of community painting days have been scheduled for residents, businesses and schools to get in on the action. The Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, in partnership with the Ditko Estate, will begin the installation process from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March12, at the Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center’s ArtWorks Building, 413 Third Ave., Johnstown.
Community Painting Days: March 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; March 16-May 18 from 4-7 p.m. excludes March 30; March 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; April 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; April 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and April 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To participate, register by calling 814-535-2020 for a 30-minute painting slot on the designated days. Bottle Works artists will oversee the painters and help guide them in the process.
Somerset Area Ministerium Community Lenten Service
The Somerset Area Ministerium will be having Lenten service March 9. Special music will be performed by Diane Vandersure starting at 11:30 a.m. The Liturgist will be the Rev. Eric Raygor reading from Matthew chapter 16:21-28. The Rev. Arnie McFarland will present the message, "Keep your Mind on the Divine."
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church along West Patriot Street.
Movie Night
The Garrett United Methodist Church will have a movie night at 6 p.m. March 13, at the church at 800 Walker St., Garrett. The movie is "I Still Believe." This is the true-life story of Christian music mega star Jeremy Camp and his journey of love and loss that prove there is always hope in the midst of tragedy and that faith tested is the only faith worth sharing. Snacks will be served following the movie.
A Painting Party
Cup of Soul Cafe, Berlin, join one or both of a two-part painting party, March 17 and March 24. Week one will feature a bunny just in time for Easter. Week two will be a spring chick. The 10x10 canvas paintings compliment one another and can be used together or separately. Sign up for both to be entered into a special drawing. Soup and sandwich
Journey in Faith Lutheran Ministries invites the public to soup and sandwich meals and presentations from representatives of local charitable organizations in the Somerset County. Both the meal and presentations will take place in the social halls of each church. Every effort will be made to make each location as accessible as possible for all who attend.
March 9: St. Mark Lutheran Church, 823 Main St., Shanksville, will have a 6 p.m. Soup and Sandwich Meal, and a 7-8 p.m. presentation: "Helping the Poor in Our Community" by the Berlin Food Pantry and the St. Mark Clothes Closet.
