The Johnstown Street Survivors car club will be hosting a Graffiti night at The Silver Drive in at 1664 Scalp Ave., Johnstown, July 13. Gates open at 7 p.m. Car cruise before the movies. The first movie starts at dusk which is around 9 p.m., and it will be Talladega Nights and the second movie will be HotRod. Bring a battery powered radio to listen to the movies, welcome to all vehicles.

Allegheny Portage Railroad NHS

Costumed rangers conduct a variety of daily program offerings that vary from day to day at Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, 10 miles west of Altoona, off the Gallitzin exit of U.S. Highway 22. The programs are offered now through Sept. 30, and are generally held between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and from 2-4 p.m. The programs are weather and staff dependent. Johnstown Flood National Memorial

Join a Park Ranger for a guided walk through the ruins of the South Fork Dam, daily at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., now through Sept. 30. This interpretive walk will last approximately 45 minutes and will take participants to the bottom of the dam, through the breach and back out on the other side. The meeting location is on the South Abutment. Participants will learn about May 31, 1889, the hillside across from the dam, and much more. The last portion of the walk contains a steep section with stairs. The walk is approximately 1/3 mile. Participants are encouraged to wear proper shoes and bring water. 9th annual Lincoln Highway SupperMarket

The Lincoln Highway Experience’s annual Lincoln Highway SupperMarket is returning to the Route 30-based museum this summer for its ninth year. The popular weekly open-air food festival will take place on 13 Wednesdays until Aug. 24, 5-8 p.m., weather permitting, at the Lincoln Highway Experience’s grounds at 3435 Route 30 East in Latrobe. Guests can enjoy breezy summer evenings on the spacious lawn with great food from local chefs, BYOB, and live music. There is a charge per car for admission. Additional cost for food purchased from chefs’ booths. Tables are limited, so it is suggested that attendees also bring chairs or blankets, especially if you will be arriving late. No outside food or pets are permitted. The 2022 participating local chefs are Aroma Italiano, Chef Dato’s Table, Connections Café, Grateful Smoke BBQ and Simply Good. Concerts-on-the-Green Summer Concert Series

The 42nd annual free summer concert series, Concerts-on-the-Green, is underway at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County. The concerts are held on the grounds at 7 p.m. and run roughly to 8 p.m. every Wednesday, through Aug. 18. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to listen to these concerts which take place on the new Amphitheatre in front of the M. Josephine Paul Family Museum. July 13: Civic Band. July 20: Civic Band.

Porgy and Bess, Simple Gifts and Shenandoah at The Grand Halle

The Grand Halle on Broad Street, Johnstown, will feature The Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh in Concert at the fourth and final performance of the 2022-2023 Grand Halle Chamber Concert Series at 7:30 p.m. July 14. The Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh are a wind quintet featuring music on flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn. Tickets for The Aeolians Winds of Pittsburgh are now available online, over the phone or at the door. Guests will be required to wear masks at each Chamber Concert Series performance. Walk-Through Basket Party

Windber Health Care Foundation Auxiliary Walk-Through Basket Party is from noon to 7 p.m. July 15, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 16, at Windber Place at CSSMCW, at the top of 7th Street next to Windber Hospice. Movies Night

Movies night is back during the summer at Keystone State Park. The park will be playing a variety of movies at the beach house. The movies will be shown on a projector screen outside on the lawn. So grab your blankets, chairs and make sure you dress for the weather. The times for the movies are at 8:30 p.m., depending on when it gets dark. Movies will not be shown in inclement weather. Woman on Target

The NRA will sponsor a "Woman on Target" shooting clinic designed to teach new female shooters and gun owners about firearms safety, properly handling techniques, how to shoot and what to consider when purchasing their first or next firearm. The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16 at the Jerome Sportsmen Association's Club, 3220 Jerome Hill Road, Hollsopple. The cost of the class will include a one-year membership to Jerome Sportsmen. July Living History Weekend, including "A Midsummer Night's Ball"

Ligonier Valley Historical Society July Living History Weekend, “Laughlintown in the War of 1812.” Step back in time on the historic grounds of Compass Inn Museum from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16 and 17, to see what was happening in Laughlintown during the War of 1812. Interact with the men and women of the Maryland-based Ship’s Company, a reenactment unit that portrays the naval contractor system used to supply the U.S. Navy during the War of 1812, highlighting the roles of early American businesswomen, tailors, seamstresses, sailmakers, brewers, millers, and others who lived during the early 1800s. The Living History Weekend also includes tours of the historic Compass Inn and outbuildings, as well as cooking and blacksmithing demonstrations, at no extra charge.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, from 7-10 p.m. July 16, dance the night away in Laughlintown at “A Midsummer Night’s Ball” at Compass Inn Museum. "Midsummer Night’s Ball” will feature local dancing master, Brett Walker, and period music by The Wayward Companions. Period clothing of any style is encouraged. Mitchell reunion

The family members of Frank and Ester Ann (Smith) Mitchell will have their annual family reunion at 12:30 p.m. July 16, at the Milford United Methodist Church. Those attending should bring a covered dish, a white elephant item for the auction, any address updates, any family photos and genealogical information they may have. Meat, rolls and drinks will be provided.

CCC Youthfest

The Christian Community Church of Boswell CCC Youthfest 2022,from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 16, for ages sixth through 12th grade. Mike Dunlap will be the speaker and Scott Schmitt Band will provide music. Various completions and events throughout the day will include volleyball, horseshoes, dunk tank with the Rev. Dunlap being the dunkee in the tank, fishing, basketball, sack races, tug of war competitions, etc. Gift card prizes will be awarded to the winners of many of the events. Miller reunion set for July 17

The descendants of the late Julia (Zellmer Koch) and Clarence Miller will gather for their family reunion at noon July 17 at the Faith Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 6567 Glades Pike in Somerset. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish and table service. Lunch will be followed by door prizes, children’s games and visiting.

The Miller children included the late Theresa Walker 1903-1988, Frank Miller 1905-1973, Agnes Brick 1906-1996, George Miller 1907-1994, Alice Nicholson 1909-1973, Mary Jane Connor 1913-1999, Ida May Edleman 1920-1989, Margaret Bloom 1924-1994, Edna Dugan 1925-2006, Elizabeth Spagnoli 1926-1980 and James Miller 1928-1949.

Drone Camp

Laurel Highlands Education and Robotic's third annual Drone Camps provide two hours of drone activities geared for both beginners and experienced flyers. As a bonus, students will hear about LHER's robotics programs and have the opportunity to drive robots built by local high school students. "The Vote from Somerset that Ended Slavery," Congressman Alexander Coffroth's Pivotal 'Aye' that passed the 13th Amendment, will be presented by Margaret Hostetler, president of Springs Historical Society at 7:30 p.m. July 25. “JSA Open” 3-P Rifle Competition

The Jerome Junior Rifle Team (JJRT) will host its first ever “Outdoor 3-Position (3-P) 50 yard .22 caliber small-bore rifle competition.” The competition, which will include an indoor air-rifle match with .177 caliber rifles, will be conducted at the Jerome Sportsmen’s Association (JSA) facilities, 3220 Jerome Hill Road, Hollsopple. It starts from noon through 4 p.m. July 29, and starting at 8 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m. both days, July, 30-31.

Pre-registeration is encouraged. There will be a chicken and burger barbecue and other food, snacks and drinks available for sale, proceeds to benefit the JJRT. The competition is sanctioned by NRA Shooting Sports. Awards will be given in the men’s and women’s divisions for the “Top Three” in each category.

In addition, a special “Youth BB Gun Competition,” for children 8 to 13 years of age, will be held on Sunday afternoon. Members of the Jerome Jr. BB Gun team are scheduled to compete at the Indoor Range and any individuals, or BB Gun teams, are also invited to register for this special youth match. The Daisy model 499 Target Rifle is required and non-members must provide their own rifles. The “Top Shots” of the BB Gun Match will also receive awards.

All 3-P and BB Gun competitors must preregister for the “JSA Open” by July, 25. Annual Senior Picnic

Tickets are still available at any county Senior Community Center or at the Area Agency on Aging services complex, 1338 South Edgewood Ave., Somerset, for the annual Senior Picnic, hosted by the Area Agency on Aging of Somerset County. It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29, at the Somerset County Fairgrounds, 7842 Mount Davis Road, Meyersdale. Lunch is served at noon. Tickets may be purchased at any Senior Community Service Center or at the Area Agency on Aging office at 1338 S. Edgewood Ave., Somerset. For more information, call 814-443-2681. On the menu is hamburger on bun, two chicken strips, mac n' cheese and watermelon. Musical entertainment will be provided by local group The Krazy Kat Daddies. There will also be a car show. The first 25 cars to sign up get a free ticket. Plenty of parking available on-site and 1950s attire is encouraged.

The Fallingwater Soirée is back

Enjoy Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater in Fayette County during a special fundraising event, the Fallingwater Soirée, from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 13. Attendees will enjoy wine and signature cocktails crafted with local spirits, dine on cuisine curated by Chef Kate Romane of Black Radish Kitchen, and experience self-guided tours of the house, where live music will be provided by MCG Jazz. Proceeds from the event support the ongoing preservation of Fallingwater, which opened for public tours in 1964, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and was voted the most important building of the 20th century by the American Institute of Architects.

Hyatt's Angels 5K and 1 mile run/walk

Registration is now open for the "Hyatt's Angels" 9th annual 5K and 1 mile fun run/walk, 9 a.m. Sept. 10, in Jennerstown. Set at Pine Springs Camp, the landscape is a 3.1 mile out and back course that weaves through the countryside. The course includes "Hyatt's Hill" right after the half-way point.
