What's Happening? Here are 10 events in the Fayetteville area this weekend

The Fayetteville area has various upcoming events from pride month celebrations to music performances.

As Pride Month continues, Fayetteville Pride's Pride Festival will return to the Fayetteville area Saturday after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival will be held from noon-6 p.m. at Festival Park. The festival will include live music, drag performances, local vendors, food trucks and a kids' area. The first drag performance will start on the main stage at 1 p.m. and the first music performance will start at 1:3 p.m.

Some of the kids' area performances include puppet shows and a drag queen storytime. The first puppet show will start at 12:10 p.m.

Fourth Friday

The Cool Spring Downtown District will hold its Fourth Friday event from 6-9 p.m. Friday in downtown Fayetteville.

The free event includes live music, vendors and food carts, along with a chance to explore downtown.

Music at the Farm

Sweet Valley Ranch will host its concert series Music at the Farm at 7 p.m. Saturday at the ranch, 2990 Sunnyside School Road, Fayetteville.

The show will feature bands Rivermist at 7 p.m. and Kids in America at 8:15 p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $35 and are available on Etix.

Comedy Trolley

Following the Pride Festival, Cool Spring Downtown District will hold its Heyy Gurl Hay! comedy trolley event at 7 p.m.

The trolley will depart from in front of Blue Moon Cafe, 310 Hay St., Fayetteville, hourly between 7 and9 p.m. The trolley will feature drag queens Aida Stratton, Amanda LaRouxx and Michelle Michaels.

The comedy event is for those aged 21 and over. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.

Movie Night on the Lawn

Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom will host a movie night at 8:30 p.m. June 30 on their lawn, 5435 Corporation Drive, Hope Mills.

The free movie featured will be "Top Gun" and will start at sundown. Attendees are advised to bring their own chairs and blankets to set up on the lawns.

Barbara Ann's Southern Fried Chicken Grand Opening

Barbara Ann's Southern Fried Chicken will hold the grand opening of its new permanent location Thursday from 3-6 p.m. at 3740 Main St., Hope Mills.

The food truck-turned restaurant formerly known as Babann's Fried Chicken will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the grand opening.

Rockefeller House Tour

Carvers Creek Park presents the Rockefeller House Tour at 6 p.m. Friday at 2505 Long Valley Road, Spring Lake.

The free event features a 1/2-mile hike to the house of James Stillman Rockefeller, who served as a lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Airborne Command during World War II.

Although the tour is free, those interested must sign up, which can be done by calling the park at 910-436-4681. There is a 15-person limit and participants must arrive at least 30 minutes early.

Battle of the Belts Car Show

Gold Standard Auto Works will hold a Battle of the Belts Car Show event from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at 1501 Skibo Road, Fayetteville.

There will be more than 30 trophies awarded, including a club participation trophy.

Vendors are encouraged. There will be on-site detailing services offered.

Concert at Crow Complex

The Crown Complex will host Rod Wave and Friends at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Crown Coliseum, 1960 Coliseum Drive, Fayetteville.

The concert lineup includes rappers Rod Wave, Boosie, Renni Rucci and Montega Da Mobsta.

Prices range from $49 to $250. Tickets can be purchased through the complex's website.

Pre Concert Day Party

Marley's Cafe & Lounge will host a day party from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at 6228 Yadkin Road, Fayetteville, to preview the Rod Wave and Friends concert at 7:30 p.m.

The event, which is for ages 21 and older, will feature drinks, food and hookah.

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.
