What's Happening? 10 things happening this weekend in the Fayetteville area

From pageants to farmer's markets, the Fayetteville area has plenty of upcoming events in store.

Baby Miss Fayetteville

The Baby Miss Fayetteville Pageant is Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the Dream Center, 3035 G Boone Trail Ext.

The event will have a 9 a.m. pageant for newborn to 11-month-old contestants; an 11 a.m. pageant fo 1- and 2-year-old contestants; and a 2 p.m. pageant for 3- to 6-year-old contestants.

Mr. and Miss Fayetteville State University Scholarship Pageant

The 30th Annual Miss Fayetteville State University Scholarship Pageant and the19th Mr. Fayetteville State University Scholarship Competition will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in the J.W. Seabrook Auditorium on the campus.

Admission to the event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Festival of Praise

The WIDU 2022 Anniversary Festival of Praise is at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Crown Coliseum.

The event will feature performances by Grammy-winning gospel recording artists Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton and Hezekiah Walker.

Tickets cost from $25 to $60 and can be purchased through the Crown Complex website.

Into the Woods

Sweet Tea Shakespeare is presenting its production of "Into the Woods" at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 1601 Raeford Road. The play runs Thursday through Sunday until May 8.

Tickets can be purchased at sweetteashakespeare.com/tickets. Ticket prices vary.

Dirtbag Ales market

Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom holds its weekly Farmer's Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at 5435 Corporation Drive, Hope Mills. The market features live music, local vendors, food trucks, yoga, and Dirtbag Ales craft brews.

City Market at the Museum

The City Market at the Museum is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The market, held at the Fayetteville History Museum, 325 Franklin St., features locally grown vegetables and fruits, eggs and honey. There will also be seasonal offerings including plants, flowers, wood crafts, soaps, and candles

The event is each Saturday through December.

Sunday at the Ranch

Sweet Valley Ranch hosts its Sunday at the Ranch event from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the ranch located at 2990 Sunnyside School Road in Cedar Creek.

The event features attractions including go-karts, youth ATVs, mini ATVs, inflatables, a farm tour, an animal meet and greet, a playground, a souvenir photo and lunch. Tickets are $50 for adults/drivers and $25 for children/non-drivers.

Dog Day at the Garden

The Cape Fear Botanical Garden hosts its Dog Day at the Garden event from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The event will feature door prizes for the first 250 guests, raffles, vendors, food trucks, a photo booth, doggy obstacle course and nail trimming. The event is free for members of the garden and daily admission will be charged for non-members. Dog admission is free.

TAP on Thursday

Fayetteville poet LeJuan "El'Ja" Bowens hosts TAP (Tea and Performance) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Winterbloom Tea at 238 Hay St.

All poets, comics, songwriters and musicians are encouraged to attend the events to display their talents.
