Take a walk at Delta Ponds

Delta Ponds is a 150-acre waterway site full of ponds, channels and wetlands. It's a popular site for walking, biking and birdwatching with plenty of spots to take in views of the water. There is a trail around the ponds that is about 1.8 miles out-and-back and takes most people about 30 minutes to complete. The path is less of a hike and more of a paved walking trail, but it's still a wonderful way to get outside.

To get to the start of the trail, you'll want to park at the Delta Ponds upper parking lot off Goodpasture Island Road. From there, you can explore a few options for trails to take. To follow the 1.8 mile trail, take a left and follow the path until you reach the east side of the ponds. There are educational displays and plenty of observation platforms to keep you entertained along the way. Keep an eye out for plenty of wildlife, especially birds. Visitors will often spy herons, turtles and maybe even a beaver. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
