Ribbon Trail to Floral Hill

Hendricks Park is located just over a mile from the University of Oregon, making it an extremely convenient option for those looking to get outside. Visitors can explore more than 78 acres of mature forest and rhododendron and native plant gardens using the many trails winding through the park.

For those looking for a quicker hike that will still get your heart rate up, check out Ribbon Trail to Floral Hill. This 1.6-mile out-and-back route should take you about 45 minutes. To get to the start of the trail, take East 30th Avenue to the Spring Boulevard exit. Head north on Spring Boulevard and the trailhead is right off the exit to your right. There is accessible street parking next to the trailhead.

The path winds through a beautiful forest with lots of shade. There aren’t many viewpoints during the hike, although you can see glimpses of Moon Mountain along the way.

Throughout the hike you’ll want to follow signs pointing toward Hendricks Park and then Floral Hill.

Since the hike is out-and-back, you can choose to turn around at any point, but I followed signs all the way down to the Floral Hill trailhead and then turned around.

Another option is to do the hike in reverse by starting at Floral Hill trailhead (located off of Floral Hill Drive) and hiking to the Ribbon Trail trailhead.
