FRANKFORT — Four more years with Gov. Andy Beshear in office begins Tuesday, with inauguration events planned throughout the day to mark the start of his second term.

Beshear, a Democrat who defeated Republican challenger and outgoing Attorney General Daniel Cameron in the November election, will take part in a swearing-in ceremony at 2 p.m., with a parade in Kentucky's capital planned at 11 a.m. in celebration. Both events will be televised and streamed online, along with a musical performance from Eastern Kentucky native and country music star Tyler Childers and a reading from Kentucky Poet Laureate Silas House.

The theme of this year's inauguration is "Forward, Together." Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Jim Gray, the inauguration chair, said the theme was chosen by the governor and first lady Britainy Beshear "as a genuine and heartfelt commitment to the Team Kentucky philosophy that we prosper when we pull together and move forward.” Health care workers and public school employees will take part in the Inaugural Parade as its grand marshals.

Tuesday's events are ceremonial. Beshear and Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman were sworn in for a second term at midnight ahead of the day's celebrations.

Here's a quick look at what to expect Tuesday in Frankfort, and how you can follow along from home.
