Friday, May 20

  • Friday Night Freak Out at the Robinson Film Center - Come out to RFC to see a special screening of the new horror film "X" at 10 p.m. The film follows a group of filmmakers in 1979 who are trying to make an adult film in rural Texas and find themselves in a fight for their lives when the elderly hosts of their rental catches them in the act. Grab a themed cocktail at Abby Singer's until 9:30 p.m. and purchase tickets at the box office or at RFC's website. RFC is located at 617 Texas St. in Shreveport.

Saturday, May 21

  • Family Adventure Day at Richard Fleming Park - From 9 a.m. - Noon bring the family out for a day of fishing, canoeing and archery. This free event is hosted by the Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park and Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation and is for kids 6 and up only. Visit the Facebook Event Page to register.

  • Pretty in Pearls Mother and Daughter Tea Party at Moore Luv Childcare Center - Don your best hat and prettiest pearls for tea and treats with your daughter. For information on tickets, contact Latonya Hayward or Sedena Moore at 318-349-3055 or 318-617-1481. Moore Luc Childcare Center is located at 635 W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop Ste. 100 in Shreveport.

Sunday, May 22

A BINGO player marks N-35 on her card. About 20 seniors gathered Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 2022 at the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center in Ocala for a game of Bingo. The group meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-2:30 p.m. It costs $2 to play for the day and everyone plays eight games and two jackpots. The games can range from $2.50 to $7 in winnings per game, depending on the number of people that show up.  [Doug Engle/Ocala Star Banner]2022
  • Drag Bingo at Port City Bar B Que - Come out for an afternoon of dancing, eating and drinking while playing Bingo hosted by Violet Ray. Enjoy drink specials like $3 Fireball and $5 Well Drinks and winning prizes from 3 - 5 p.m. at 784 E. Flournoy Lucas in Shreveport.

  • "Coffee & Punch" at Big Sun Studios - This free opening reception from 2 - 5 p.m. will be their first dual-artist exhibition showcasing the artworks of Ron Brown and Ben Ware. Brown's monochromatic photographs will be juxtaposed by Ware's mixed-media paintings. The exhibit will be on display every weekend 2 - 5 until July 10th.  Big Sun Studios is located at 619 Edwards St. in Shreveport.
