The Massillon Museum will exhibit "Accessible Expressions Ohio" in its Aultman Health Foundation Gallery from March 25 through May 7. The show is produced by Art Possible Ohio, the state agency on art and disability.

What are the highlights?

The adjudicated, statewide exhibition and tour of art includes the creative work of 60 Ohio artists with disabilities. Artists of any age with a disability who live in Ohio may enter in the youth, emerging, or professional categories. This year, artists were also given the option to submit artwork in a special category − family − one of the themes represented in April’s Massillon Museum Big Read celebration, which focuses on the book, "Interior Chinatown" by Charles Yu.

"Accessible Expressions Ohio" is designed to change perceptions and raise awareness about disability by presenting the exhibition in inclusive settings.  To learn more, visit artpossibleohio.org.

The Museum will host a free public reception for the "Accessible Expressions Ohio" artists from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. April 1.

What are some other reasons to visit MassMu?

The reception will run concurrent with the 2023 NEA Big Read kickoff and the opening reception for the exhibition, "Finding Identity: Heritage as Inspiration," which also complements the Big Read.

No reservations are required. Complimentary copies of "Interior Chinatown" will be available, and guests can visit the Massillon Public Library Bookmobile.
