What's new at the Mu? Willis Gordon to give Brown Bag Lunch talk

Community advocate Willis Gordon will headline the Massillon Museum’s Brown Bag Lunch at 12:10 p.m. April 23.

The event will conclude about 12:50 p.m. to accommodate guests who attend on their lunch hours.

Highlights

Gordon, who served in the U.S. Navy, is veterans affairs chair for the Ohio NAACP. Gordon has authored two short story collections and has a syndicated column. A musician who formed his own band, he also launched a company called Gordon Enterprises.

He leads a YouTube discussion show about finding solutions to a community’s problems without getting stuck on our differences.

The program is part of MassMu’s 2024 NEA Big Read. An initiative in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. The 2024 Brown Bag Lunch series is funded in part by the Massillon/North Canton Elks Lodge 2029.

Why attend?

Brown Bag Lunch programs are free and open to everyone. Guests may bring lunch or purchase sandwiches, salad, and smoothies at Greatness Cafe in the Museum lobby. MassMu provides complimentary cookies and coffee for attendees. Art and history galleries will be open before and after the presentation.
