Purdue legend and future NFL Hall of Famer Drew Brees doesn't know what he'll be doing this fall.

He might find himself back in a broadcast booth. He might pull a Tom Brady and end up on the football field again. Maybe he'll work on his golf game, or pick up pickleball.

But whatever he chooses, he'll do it on his terms — and let the world know when he feels like it.

"Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided," Brees tweeted Sunday night. "I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know."

Brees retired after the 2020 NFL season and jumped to the broadcast booth with NBC, calling Notre Dame football games and some NFL games. Some thought he might be the next Tony Romo, but his performance was met with lackluster reviews (to put it kindly). The New York Post reported Sunday that Brees was done with the network after just one season, but that he might end up with Fox or Amazon doing NFL games.

Last season, he got a call from the Saints asking if he'd come out of retirement for one game, but decided against it. (The Saints also called Philip Rivers).

Brees spent 20 seasons with the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints, throwing for 80,358 yards and 571 touchdowns. The 13-time Pro Bowler was the MVP of Super Bowl XLIV.

He threw 90 touchdown passes in four seasons with Purdue from 1997-2000.
