Meet at Dam Overlook parking lot. Join a park ranger and head straight up the mountain on the switchbacks of Old Misery. The hike will join Cat Rock trail and pause for a break at the Cat Rock formation before turning around and going back down the mountain. Leashed pets welcome, not handicap or stroller accessible. No restrooms on site. Three miles roundtrip, difficult terrain. Due to limited parking, registration is required. Meet at Gathland Hall Museum. The moderate hike is approximately 4 miles. The hike will begin at Crampton's Gap and continue on the Appalachian Trail to Brownsville Pass, one of the lesser-known locations that played a role in the 1862 Battle of South Mountain. At Brownsville Pass, hikers will have the option to hike back or continue on toward Weverton Cliff Overlook. Leashed pets are welcome. The Appalachian Trail is not wheelchair or stroller friendly.
