Angela Crenshaw with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources will present a program for all ages. Offered on the anniversary of Tubman's first flight to freedom from enslavement on Sept. 17, 1849, the event also recognizes Underground Railroad Month (September) and the bicentennial of Harriet Tubman's birth in 2022. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., before and after the presentation, visitors may enjoy tours of the historic church (c. 1828) and view the Museum of the Ironworker across the street, or follow the nearby African-American Cemetery Trail. Attendees should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masking is encouraged and may become required, depending on the status of the virus at the time of the event. Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, "Little Women" follows the adventures of sisters Joe, Meg, Beth and Amy March. All roles are open. Those auditioning must be 16 years or older. Prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. Auditioners might also be asked to learn/sing a song from the show. There also might be a dance audition. All performers will be paid a per-performance stipend. Additionally, those cast will be given the opportunity to join the restaurant service staff where they may earn gratuities. Performances dates are the evenings of Fridays, Nov. 18, 25, Dec. 2, 9, 16; Saturdays, Nov. 19, 26, Dec. 3, 10, 17; and matinees on Sundays, Nov. 27, Dec. 4, 11 and 18.
