What's Open, Closed Christmas Week 2020 In Canton

CANTON, GA — Christmas may be different for some who may avoid larger gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19. What hasn't changed is the closure of many services in Canton for the holiday.

While Christmas is a federal holiday, some services may start their closures on Christmas Eve. Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Thursday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Friday, Dec. 25 (Christmas).

  • Cherokee County government will be closed Thursday, Friday and Monday.

  • Cherokee County Schools are off from Dec. 21 - Jan. 3, all offices are closed.

  • Municipal offices for Canton will be closed Thursday and Friday.

  • Senior Services will be closed Thursday and Friday.

  • All Sequoyah Regional Library System branches will be closed Wednesday-Saturday.

  • There will be a one-day delay in service for garbage pick up this week. If your regularly scheduled service day falls on or after Christmas Day, your service will be delayed by one day to ensure everyone is serviced. Advanced Disposal service will run on Saturdays this week to accommodate this schedule.

  • This is a federal holiday and all U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed. No mail will be delivered or sent. Regular business hours will resume Saturday, Dec. 26.

  • Publix: All stores open at regular hours and close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All stores and pharmacies will be closed on Christmas Day.

  • Kroger: All stores and pharmacies will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day.
