What's Open, Closed Christmas Week 2020 In Dallas and Hiram

DALLAS-HIRAM, GA — Christmas may be different for those who avoid larger gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19. What hasn't changed: Many services in Dallas, Hiram and Paulding County are closed for the holiday.

While Christmas is a federal holiday, some services may start their closures on Christmas Eve. Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Thursday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Friday, Dec. 25 (Christmas).

  • All government offices in Paulding County, Dallas and Hiram — except those required for public safety, such as law enforcement and fire and rescue — are closed Thursday and Friday.

  • All branches of the West Georgia Regional Library System including the Dallas Public Library are closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

  • Paulding Transit is closed Friday and Saturday.

  • Students in the Paulding County School District are on break through Jan. 4. Second semester begins on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

  • The Paulding County Health Department will be closed Thursday and Friday. Regular hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 28.

  • Christmas a federal holiday, and all U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed. No mail will be delivered or sent. Regular business hours will resume on Saturday, Dec. 26.

  • Publix: All stores open at regular hours and close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All stores and pharmacies will be closed on Christmas Day.

  • Kroger: All stores and pharmacies will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day.
