What's Open, Closed In Lakeland On Martin Luther King Jr. Day

LAKELAND, FL — Martin Luther King Jr. Day falls on Mon., Jan. 17 this year, and a variety of services will be closed in Lakeland on the day.

King's birthday is Jan. 15, but the federal holiday celebrating the civil rights leader is observed on the third Monday of January each year.

Here is a list of what is closed on Monday:

  • City of Lakeland Government Offices: Closed

  • Lakeland libraries: Closed

  • Recreation Centers and Gandy Pool: Closed

  • Cleveland Heights Golf Course: Open

  • Post Office: Closed

  • City and County COVID-19 Testing Centers: Closed

Waste, Collection:

  • Service will not be interrupted on MLK Day.
