What's Open, Closed On Thanksgiving 2020 In Woodstock

WOODSTOCK, GA — Thanksgiving may be different for some who may avoid larger gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19. What hasn't changed is the closure of many services in Woodstock for the holiday.

While Thanksgiving is a federal holiday, some services may continue their closures on Friday. Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) and Friday, Nov. 27 (Black Friday).

  • Cherokee County government will be closed Thursday and Friday.

  • Cherokee County Schools are off this week from Nov. 23-27, all offices are closed.

  • Municipal offices for Woodstock will be closed Thursday and Friday.

  • Senior Services will be closed Thursday and Friday.

  • All Sequoyah Regional Library System branches will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, and remain closed Thursday and Friday.

  • There will be a one-day delay in service for garbage pick up this week. If your regularly scheduled service day falls on or after Thanksgiving Day, your service will be delayed by one day to ensure everyone is serviced. Advanced Disposal service will run on Saturdays this week to accommodate this schedule.

  • This is a federal holiday and all U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed. No mail will be delivered or sent. Regular business hours will resume Friday, Nov. 27.

  • Publix: All stores and pharmacies will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, and will resume regular hours on Black Friday.

  • Kroger: Most stores are open 24 hours. Some stores will open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
