What's open and closed on Thanksgiving in the Chattanooga area?

Nov. 24—Need a last-minute item for the Thanksgiving feast? A way to entertain visiting relatives when the meal is done?

Here are some area attractions, retailers and grocery stores open Thanksgiving Day.

The attractions list includes the Southern Belle Riverboat, which could be considered a twofer, with something to eat and something to do.

"You'll get a traditional Thanksgiving meal of ham, turkey and all the sides, plus a cruise and live music," said group sales manager Joy Reinert. "It's just nice."

Reinert said scheduling Thanksgiving Day cruises has been a tradition since the riverboat was christened in 1985, and tickets typically sell out.

"It's been hugely successful," she said.
