What's that restaurant going in on Commercial Street in South Salem?

Description: After a two-year spell as a home decor, antiques and crafts mall, the building on Commercial Street near Northern Lights Theatre Pub in South Salem is returning to its roots as a restaurant.
According to city records, a Bo & Vine restaurant is slated to open in the spot.
Bo & Vine opened in downtown Salem on Liberty Street with much buzz in 2017 and became known for decked-out smash burgers, decadent milkshakes and fry piles.
The restaurant soon expanded to Eugene and Corvallis and also operates a mobile kitchen. Management said the location on Commercial would be in addition to, not replacing, the downtown restaurant. The downtown location remains a popular spot and expanded with more outdoor seating in 2022.
The building permit filed with the city indicated the 5,567-square-foot space would be renovated with a reconfigured interior layout, new accessible restrooms and a commercial kitchen.
A site plan for the location was approved on Monday.
The building was previously home to an Arby's in the 1980s and Myrl's Buffet Dining in 1990 before longtime Los Arcos Mexican Grill set up shop. When the restaurant, known for its margaritas and Jalisco-style dishes, relocated to its current location on 4120 Commercial St. SE in 2002, it was replaced by Guadalajara Grill.
Guadalajara Grill operated at the site for more than a decade. It closed its Salem location and relocated to Jefferson in 2018.
In 2021, the Halicuna Bay Mall, an arts, crafts, collectibles and home decor store, opened shop in the building. The business offered vendor booths and sold items like homemade pickles, holiday decorations and soap. According to a commercial posting, the mall's lease expired in March.
The shopping center surrounding the building is home to Northern Lights Theatre Pub, Panda Express, Chipotle, Wells Fargo, Funky Munky consignment, Mina's Cafe, On Any Sundae, Ollie's Pizza and Game Center, Real Deals Salem, South Salem Barbers and Mia Bella Salon.
A neighboring site at 3975 Commercial St. SE is up for lease. A school previously occupied the building, which was originally built as a grocery store.
