Where are America’s most picturesque towns? Five Florida spots have made the list

North Carolina Travel Guides released its list of the 120 most picturesque small towns in America, and included five Florida spots.

Seaside claimed the No. 14 spot. St. Augustine, Apalachicola, Palm Beach, and Cape Canaveral came in at 28, 37, 63, and 108, respectively.

Other than Palm Beach, no other South Florida towns made the list.

To create the list, North Carolina Travel Guides gathered a list of 500 popular small towns and looked at several factors, including internet search trends, popularity with photographers on Flickr, and popularity for photography with the general public on Instagram.

Seaside, in the Panhandle, was the only Florida town that made the top 25, earning accolades for its white sand beaches and bright blue Gulf of Mexico waters. The travel guide also praised the town of 12,000 residents for its New Urbanism architecture, cobblestone streets, and colorful pastel houses.

Texas took the prize for the having the most picturesque small towns, with 15 making the list. With 10 towns, New York came in second, and Georgia took third place with 7 towns on the list.
