Where do you go for the best barbecue in Pierce County? Vote for your pick

Whether it’s bagels or barbecue, there seems to be no shortage of foods former East Coasters and Southerners miss in their new home of Tacoma, or that long-timers lament have never been easy to find.

Now that summer appears to have unofficially arrived, it feels like a good time to ask: Who does make the best barbecue in Pierce County?

Is it the longstanding Bob’s Bar-B-Q on Hilltop, or My 4 Sons, another family-run joint on a quiet Midland corner? Maybe it’s a food truck aptly called The Man BBQ, which posts up at the Amvets on Tyler Street in Tacoma and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Has Jack’s BBQ, now with two nearby locations in Algona and Lakewood, taken the crown? Are those on the west side of the Narrows lucky to have BBQ2U and Brimstone? Should Forward Operating Base Brewery in DuPont have our barbecue attention?

Let us know who makes your favorite Southern-style barbecue below.

A note from TNT Diner: Our region is brimming with options for delicious Korean barbecue, especially in Lakewood, as well as Chinese duck and pork from the inimitable Tho Tuong in Tacoma’s Lincoln District, among other styles that would fit under the broad “barbecue” umbrella. For the purposes of this reader poll, we are focusing on the Southern American style of smoked meats and the argument that seems to ensue when people ask, “Where can I find great Texas brisket in Tacoma?”
