We asked readers where to find the best breakfast in Whatcom County, and the votes are in.

The poll had 14 local restaurant options in Whatcom County, including The Daisy Cafe, Cedars Restaurant and Lounge, Arlis’s Restaurant and Peace Arch Cafe.

The unscientific poll received 364 votes.

Best breakfast in Whatcom County

The Birch Door Cafe received 79 votes, or 22% of the total, to top the list of the best breakfast spot in Whatcom County.

The popular breakfast spot has also won three previous reader polls, being named the best brunch spot, the best pancakes, and the best eggs Benedict spot.

The Birch Door Cafe has a large menu for breakfast and lunch, including dishes such as a blueberry lemon cobbler French toast, biscuits and gravy, bacon and swiss omelet, cajan turkey melt, mushroom Swiss burger, espresso drinks and alcoholic beverages.

The cafe is also popular online, receiving a 4.5-star rating from 846 reviews on Yelp. On Google Reviews, Boomers Drive-In received a 4.7-star rating from 2,118 reviews.

In second place was Diamond Jim’s Grill with 52 votes.

This breakfast spot its known for its 10-inch pancakes and serves both breakfast and lunch options. With dishes such as corned beef hash, chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy the restaurant has become well-loved by many.

Online, Diamond Jim’s Grill has received a 4.4-star rating from 866 Google reviews and a 3.5-star rating from 181 reviews on Yelp.
