I scream, you scream, we all scream for — pie? That’s right, here’s your guide to finding the delicate dish in the Charlotte area.

From blueberry pie to pumpkin pie and even chicken pot pie, you can find your favorite type of pie at these spots. It doesn’t have to be National Pie Day (that’s in January) or even Pi Day (3.14 is celebrated in March) to enjoy a slice, so here’s your excuse to buy it.

Every season is pie season in Charlotte. Find your favorite flavor at these delicious local pie spots.

The Batchmaker

Find Batchmaker Cristina Roja Agurcia’s delicious pies at The Batch House. The selections include key lime pie, brown butter pumpkin pie and chocolate bourbon pecan pie.

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop

Location: 16836 D, Birkdale Commons Pkwy, Huntersville, NC 28078

Sisters Savannah and Gaby Sillyman opened the Lake Norman location of Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop back in March 2021, and it has been a staple for a great selection of pies ever since. From peanut butter cream to Nanny’s pecan, there’s something for everyone.

Burney’s Sweets and More

Location: 1200 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28206

Located right on North Davidson Street is Burney’s Sweets and More. The bakery offers 4-inch and 8-inch pies in a variety of flavors, including sweet potato, coconut custard, chocolate pecan and more.

Carolina Pie Company

Location: 136 Stutts Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117

Carolina Pie Company, a three-generation-old business serving Mooresville, has been cranking out baked goods in the Carolinas for years. Try menu favorites like the frozen margarita pie spiked with tequila and orange liqueur (careful, now) or a seasonal strawberry peach pie, which is available till September.

Hip Pies

Location: 550 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202

Hip Pies is not only available to hippies (get it?) — it hits the spot with everyone who loves this tasty dessert. This “haven of mini pies and good vibes” brings out the sweet and savory taste in each pie. Try the pork BBQ with a sweet potato crust for lunch or a vegan chocolate peanut butter pie with peanut brittle for dessert.

Milk Glass Pie

Location: Uptown Farmers Market, 300 S Davidson St, Charlotte NC 28205

Milk Glass Pie offers a weekly menu of offerings you can order to pick up at Uptown Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon. Items to choose from include whole pies — both sweet and savory — pastry boxes and baked goods.

Miki’s Restaurant

Location: 1819 Matthews Township Pkwy, Matthews, NC 28105

Miki’s Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, offers a tempting dessert case right up front. Inside you’ll find chocolate peanut butter pie among the offerings. And if you’re too full from wolfing down your meal, you can grab a slice to go.

Picadeli’s Pub-in-Deli

Location: 1600-A, Matthews-Mint Hill Rd, Matthews, NC 28105

Picadeli’s Pub-in-Deli is a family restaurant where you can eat in or take your order to go, but you’ll want to include dessert either way. Add on a slice of peanut butter pie — a flavor found quite prominently on Matthews’ dessert menus. (We don’t know why it’s a thing, but it is.)

Priester Pies

Location: Online only

Order a pie that follows mom’s baking traditions at Priester Pies. (That’s who Christine Priester-Simmons learned from, leading up to her opening her pie business.) Order a cherry pie or an old fashioned pecan pie, or a half dozen of its coconut pie or sweet potato pie tarts.

Stacks
