Where to catch the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train passing through metro Detroit on Dec. 1

Various local businesses are expecting crowds to gather and view the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train pass through metro Detroit on Thursday, between 8-10 p.m.

If you plan on attending any of the events below, remember to dress warm, remain at least 50 feet away from the train tracks at all times, and show up early for easier parking.

Carbon Athletic Club in Detroit

Carbon Athletic Club is right along the train tracks in Detroit. Their Annual Holiday Train Party attracts hundreds each year, according to the social club.

This year, attendees will enjoy live music, carolers, bonfires, hot chocolate, warm donuts, BBQ from Delray Barbecue and Stroh's beer.

  • Event is from 6-11 p.m. | Train is expected between 8-10 p.m.

  • Tickets:

    • $10 for general admission: includes an intro membership fee, which allows alcohol purchase throughout the evening.

    • $75 for VIP Stroh's Admission: includes the entry fee, all-you-can-drink Stroh's (keg only), and merchandise from Stroh's, Carbon Athletic Club and .

    • Tickets are available at the door with cash only.

Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park

One of the most popular CP Holiday Train viewing locations in Michigan has always been the vacant lot next to Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park. Bowling is not mandatory in order to view the train.

  • Bowling is open from 4-11 p.m. | Be sure to head outside between 8-10 p.m. to catch the train.

Downtown Historical Park in Romulus

Watch the train make its way to its next destination during the official Romulus Christmas Tree Lighting event — with Santa, musical performances, concessions, vendors, family-friendly games and the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m.

The event is also sponsoring the collection drive "Stuff the Buss." Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for needy residents during the holidays.

Firebird Foods in Belleville

Firebird Foods is hosting a CP Holiday Light Train party in its parking lot in Belleville. Fire pits, live music, face painting and more can be enjoyed for free but chili & hot cocoa will be available for purchase.
