Where to get the cheapest gas in Sacramento as California fuel prices soar. Is $5 possible?

Fuel prices in California are averaging $6.02 per gallon of regular gas as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the American Automobile Association, but in some Sacramento spots, it’s still possible to snag fuel for closer to $5.

A 76 gas station on Stockton Boulevard is selling gas at $4.99 per gallon, the cheapest gas in the Sacramento area as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Gasbuddy.

Last week, prices in California were just under $6, averaging at $5.84 per gallon.

In the area, Placer County has some of the most expensive fuel averaging $5.95 per gallon, according to AAA. Not too far in price is El Dorado County averaging $5.92. Yolo County has the cheapest fuel in the area an average of $5.78 per gallon. Sacramento County is averaging just 9 cents cheaper than Yolo County at $5.83 per gallon.
