Where can you get your COVID-19 booster in Centre County? See locations, who’s eligible

After receiving federal approval earlier in September, updated COVID-19 booster shots are now available in State College and central Pennsylvania.

The latest vaccines, developed by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, are designed to protect against some of the most prevalent virus strains circulating this fall. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all individuals 6 months and older should receive at least one dose of the latest booster.

According to the CDC, you should wait at least three months to get a COVID-19 vaccine if you recently tested positive for the virus. You can get a new booster shot if you have not received a COVID-19 vaccine in the past two months, the agency advises. More specific recommendations are available for people who are pregnant and those with weakened or compromised immune systems.

Insurance covers the cost for most individuals, and there are programs available for those who need financial assistance.

Qualifying for the new COVID-19 booster is easy, but where can you find an appointment? Here’s what you need to know.
