The holiday season is well under way, and there's nothing quite like the scent of fresh pine and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree to get you in the holiday spirit.
If you're looking for a real tree this year, there are plenty of farms in York County where you can cut down the tree of your choice, while making memories with loved ones.

Family Tree Farm LLC
Where: 4688 Dairy Road, Red Lion
When: Opens Nov. 26
Family Tree Farm offers choose and cut Christmas trees within an easy walking distance, as well as pre-cut Christmas trees starting at $35, with hundreds to choose from. Furry friends are also welcome this year but must be leashed at all times.
McPherson Tree Farm
Where: 5941 Mt. Pisgah Road, Hallam
When: Opens Nov. 26
Family-owned and operated since 1953, McPherson Tree Farm specializes in hand-pruned Douglas fir trees. Visitors are welcome to walk through the fields, and after choosing your tree, an MFT staff member will assist in cutting it down and loading it on your car.
Old Forge Family Farm
Where: 2730 Old Forge Road, Brogue
Hours: Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday Noon - 5 p.m.
Old Forge Family Farm will supply everything visitors will need when finding their tree, including hand saw, fresh cut, drilled hole, good shake, netting and twine. They also offer pre-cut trees, wreaths, and tree stands.
Warner Christmas Tree Farm
Where: 433 Rocky Ridge Road, Spring Grove
Hours: Monday-Thursday 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sunday 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
At Warner Christmas Tree Farm this year, you may cut your own tree, or a staff member can assist if needed. All trees, no matter the size, are $45.
Creekside Farm & Market
Where: 240 Markle Run Road, East Berlin
When: Monday - Sunday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m
At Creekside Farm & Market, pre-cut trees range from $50 to $60, handmade wreaths and poinsettias are being offered this holiday season. The farm operates as self-service from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. accepting cash payments only, and then from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. card payments are accepted.
Neiderer Family Farm
Where: 125 Radio Road, Hanover
Hours: Friday 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 pm.
Neiderer Family Farm is a small, family-run farm where you can cut your own tree while giving back to the community. This year, all tree sales will benefit two families from the area who are currently battling cancer. One family is from Littlestown and the other is from Gettysburg.

Bricker's Tree Farm
Where: 3207 Seitzville Road, Seven Valleys
Hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m. - 5p.m. Sunday 8 a.m. - Noon
Metzler Tree Farm
Where: 475 Drytown Road, Holtwood
When: Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m. -5 p.m.
Metzler Tree Farm offers pre-cut trees at their barn, and cut-your-own trees are available at their farm fields.
Miller's Meadowood Tree Farm
Where: 1127 Hain Road, New Freedom
When: Monday - Thursday Noon - 4:30 p.m. Friday - Sunday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Miller's Meadowood offers Douglas Fir, Concolor Fir, Canaan Fir, and Black Spruce trees this season, priced from $40 to $45 and is cash-only.
Cornerstone Plantation
Where: 4509 Young Road, Glen Rock
Choose from a variety of trees including Douglas Fir, Blue Spruce, White Pine, Hemlock and more at Cornerstone Plantation. Staff members are ready to help you pick and cut your own tree, or pick from their selection of balled trees. Every purchase of a cut tree also includes free netting.
