Where to eat near Westminster Kennel Club show at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown

Best in show may be what's on everyone's minds at the upcoming Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, which will take place at the Lyndhurst estate in Tarrytown June 18-22. But for others, the question is what's best to eat?

Luckily Tarrytown and its surrounding villages have plenty to wag about when it comes to dining options, with many welcoming of four-legged companions. Here's a curated list of options ranging from coffee shops and casual grab-and-go to outdoor patios and fine dining.

Coffee Labs Roasters Inc.: With a Labrador retriever as its mascot — and a welcoming dog bowl out front — a visit to this coffeeshop is a must. Pick up a pound of Doghouse Blend, a combo of light and dark roasted South American coffees or the Rockit Dawg, a full-bodied espresso blend made with Colombian coffee. Known for its commitment to sustainable sources, Coffee Labs has pastries, a host of other drinks, and the lattes often come with artful designs. Basque Tapas Bar Restaurant: This tapas restaurant includes a small provisions area devoted to Spanish goods. Whatever you do, try one of the paellas, which come in meat, seafood and vegetarian versions. Dog lovers may want to try the Guapo, a vodka drink named after Ugarte's dog. It also has a small market selling artisanal products. The best perch for dining come warm weather is from the dog-friendly outdoor patio with a view of the Gov. Mario Cuomo bridge. Red Barn Bakery: An organic, locally sourced bakery with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options and lots of muffins, cakes, cookies, and other decadent goodies including the bakery's own housemade granola. Beekman Ale House: There's a simple mantra at this funkily-designed bar and that's fresh food and cold beer. Coco Taqueria: Chef/Owner Edgar Carrillo designed this fast casual taqueria to reflect the flavors of his childhood (he's from Puebla, Mexico) along with the foods his mom and grandmother would often make for him. The result is a menu brimming with authentic tacos and quesadilla as well as a host of American-inspired Mexican favorites such as a make-your-own burrito bowl, fajitas, chimichangas and fresh juices as well as Mexican sodas.
