Christmas day is approaching quickly and maybe you realized after Thanksgiving that you don't want to be left cooking for the family.

Or maybe you know that come Christmas Day the family will be in the mood for something more than turkey or ham.

No matter the reason for your need to go out, you're in luck because there are several options for a great meal on Christmas Day at restaurants around town, including a variety of cuisines.

Here are running lists of restaurants, markets and grocery stores offering order-ahead options for prepped or fully cooked holiday meals and those open for Christmas.

Call ahead or check online for reservation requirements. Remember that restaurant staff are spending the holiday away from their family to provide you and your family with a holiday meal, so bring your patience and holiday spirit along with you.
