Where every Vanderbilt baseball player is playing summer ball

Though Vanderbilt baseball's season is over, many Commodores are not done playing baseball. .

Summer collegiate leagues bring together players from multiple colleges, with hitters using wood bats to gain more experience while also being seen by scouts.

The Tennessean compiled a list of Commodores expected to be on summer league rosters in 2022. However, some players never report due to injuries, hitting pitch limits or playing for Team USA.

Team USA

The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team is an invite-only group that brings together 50 top college underclassmen for a training camp and series of intrasquad scrimmages. Following the scrimmages, 26 players will be chosen to represent Team USA against other national teams in the the Netherlands.

Sophomore left-hander Carter Holton and junior outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. both received training camp invites, making their presence in the Cape Cod League less likely.

Cape Cod Baseball League

The Cape Cod League is considered the premier collegiate summer league in the country and is scouted heavily by MLB teams. Most of the players invited to the Cape are rising juniors, though top rising sophomores can be invited as well.

Bradfield and Holton may not wind up on the Cape due to Team USA, and Hunter Owen is questionable after missing the last two months of the season with an injury.

Cotuit Kettleers: Junior outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr.

Bourne Braves: Junior left-hander Nelson Berkwich, sophomore left-hander Carter Holton, sophomore right-hander Bryce Cunningham, junior catcher Alan Espinal

New England Collegiate Baseball League

The NECBL has 14 teams based across New England. It is often considered to be the top collegiate league outside the Cape Cod League and is a common destination for Vanderbilt underclassmen.

Keene (N.H.) Swamp Bats: Senior outfielder TJ McKenzie

Newport (R.I.) Gulls: Sophomore left-hander Devin Futrell, sophomore left-hander Ryan Ginther

Sanford (Maine) Mainers: Sophomore outfielder Matthew Polk, junior outfielder Calvin Hewett

Northwoods League

The Northwoods League has 22 teams based in the Midwest. Many Northwoods League games can be watched on ESPN+.

Duluth (Minn.) Huskies: Redshirt freshman outfielder JD Rogers, sophomore infielder Jonathan Vastine

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders: Senior infielder Parker Noland

Futures Collegiate Baseball League

The FCBL is an eight-team league based in New England.

Nashua (N.H.) Silver Knights: Freshman infielder Ray Velazquez

Vermont Lake Monsters (Burlington, Vt.): Redshirt freshman right-hander Colton Regen

Cal Ripken League

The Cal Ripken League is a seven-team league based in the DC/Maryland/Virginia metropolitan area.

Alexandria (Va.) Aces: Freshman catcher Cade Law, freshman infielder Matt Wolfe

Sunbelt Baseball League

The Sunbelt League is a nine-team league based in metro Atlanta.

Prospect League

The Prospect League is a 16-team league based in the Midwest.

Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp: Freshman left-hander Noah Schultz

Ohio Valley League

The Ohio Valley League is an 11-team league based in Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana.

Full Count Rhythm (Hendersonville, Tenn.): Freshman outfielder Cooper Holbrook

Appalachian League

The Appalachian League is a 10-team league designed for rising freshmen and sophomores.
