Here's where to find fireworks, parades and events near Green Bay for 4th of July in 2022

After two years of canceled or scaled-back Fourth of July events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many are coming back with a bang for the holiday weekend.

Here's a roundup of the main events in Brown, Shawano, Oconto and Door counties as well as in Oneida. All fireworks shows will take place at dusk, sometime between 9 and 10 p.m.

Oneida Nation Pow Wow

The 48th annual Oneida Nation Pow Wow is making its return after a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19.

The pow wow, a gathering where all nations come together and dancers showcase their styles of dance, will take place from noon-9 p.m. July 1-3 at the Norbert Hill Center, N7210 Seminary Road, Oneida.

Over the three days, there will be dancing and drumming contests with over $91,000 in prize money as well as food and vendor booths. The grand entry ceremonies will be at 7 p.m. July 1; 1 and 7 p.m. July 2; and noon July 3.

For the first time, the powwow will include fireworks on Saturday night.

Many COVID-19 precautions will be in place. Tents are not being set up to maintain an open-air environment, and more bleachers are being added to allow spectators to spread out.

A weekend pass is $15, while a day pass is $8. Admission is free for people ages 5 and younger and 62 and older.

Festival Foods Fire over the Fox

Festival Foods Fire over the Fox will be back in full swing on from 3-10:30 p.m. July 4. The fireworks returned last year after being canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19, but the daylong celebration was still scaled back. This year, all the festivities will make their return.

“The community has been anxiously awaiting the return of this event to its former glory,” Allie Thut, director of special events for On Broadway Inc., said in a news release. “It is one of the largest events in downtown Green Bay, and it truly brings the community together for an entire evening of entertainment and fun.”

The event will start at 3 p.m. and take place throughout downtown Green Bay with activities in Leicht Memorial Park, the Neville Museum parking lot and along the Main Street bridge and CityDeck.

There will be live music on multiple stages, food and beverages, family activities, bounce houses and more. The Waterboard Warriors, a water ski show team, will perform at 4 p.m. The fireworks show will start at dusk, between 9:30 and 10 p.m., and conclude around 10:30 p.m.

Attendance for the entire event is free, but VIP seating for the fireworks at Leicht Memorial Park is available for $12 a seat. Tickets are on sale at eventbrite.com.

Volunteers are still needed to check in VIP guests, put wristbands on guests and pick up trash on the event grounds.
