Where to get a free Thanksgiving meal in Berks County

Nov. 18—The holidays can be a tough time for those in need.

A number of local organizations and businesses are stepping in to make things a little bit better, serving up free meals to make sure everyone is fed this Thanksgiving season.

Tuesday

—CICOP Ministry at Washington Towers, 50 N. Fourth St., 6 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday

—Count your Blessings meal at Leesport Farmers Market, 312 Gernants Church Road, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Thursday

—Mother of Worlds at Maria's Restaurant, 404 Penn St., 9 to 11 a.m.

—St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, 436 S. Seventh St., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the dinner is only available for takeout.

—Holy Trinity Church of God, 130 W. Buttonwood St., 10 a.m. to noon.

—Kennedy House, 532 Spruce St., 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

—Hope Rescue Mission, 645 N. Sixth St., 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

—Boyertown Salvation Army, 409 S. Reading Ave., noon to 1:30 p.m.

—Common Ground at Trinity Lutheran Church, 527 Washington St., noon.

—Haymakers, 709 Walnut St., 2 to 6 p.m.

—Opportunity House, 430 N. Second St., 3 p.m.
