Here’s Where Frontline Workers Can Get Free Food for National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week has taken on a whole new meaning this year. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers are putting in more hours than ever as the vital first responders they are—and no one deserves a treat (or a break) as much as they do.

This week, as a small way to thank nurses and other healthcare professionals, restaurants and food chains across the country are treating them to delicious freebies, including coffee, smoothies, burritos, and pizza. Here, the best free food deals through National Nurses Week:

Free Coffee

Corner Bakery

From May 4-8, all healthcare workers with valid ID can pick up a free coffee at Corner Bakery locations nationwide.

Dunkin’

On Wednesday, May 6, Dunkin’ is offering a free coffee and doughnut to all nurses and healthcare workers. There’s no verification necessary—just say you’re a healthcare professional and you can pick out a donut and a medium hot or iced coffee for free.

Sheetz

The gas station chain is giving out free cups of coffee to hospital workers, police officers, firefighters, and paramedics through June 1.

Starbucks

The national chain is offering free tall coffees to frontline healthcare workers through the end of May. Customers can choose between hot and iced coffee, and no identification is necessary.

Wawa

Wawa is offering free coffee to any healthcare workers and first responders. You must be in uniform or present valid identification to claim the offer.

Bojangles’

It’s not quite coffee, but frontline workers can pick up a free iced tea in any size from the fast food chain through National Iced Tea Day on June 10.

Free Snacks

Krispy Kreme

On Monday, May 11, healthcare professionals with an ID badge can pick up free doughnuts at Krispy Kreme. Each worker can receive up to five free boxes of a dozen doughnuts.

Snickers

Anyone can send a healthcare professional a free Snickers bar at their site. They’ll get a coupon for a free candy that can be redeemed at any Walmart location.

Steak ‘n Shake

Steak ‘n Shake is giving away entirely free orders of fries, no purchase necessary. (The ongoing offer, called “We’re All Essential,” is open to everyone—not just healthcare professionals.)

Tropical Smoothie Cafe

The chain is aiming to give away 1,000,000 free smoothies in May, and all you have to do to claim yours is enter your email address at Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s site.

Free Meals

Chipotle

The fast-casual chain will be giving away free burritos to healthcare workers on May 6. For a chance to receive one, frontline workers must sign up at Chipotle’s site.

&pizza

The chain is offering free pizza with contactless delivery to “anyone working in a hospital.” Text #hero to 200-03 with a picture of your valid ID to take them up on the offer.

Checkers & Rally’s

Fast-food chains Checkers and Rally’s are offering free meals to medical workers and first responders at company-owned locations nationwide. Uniformed workers will receive a free small combo.

Nando’s Peri-Peri

Nando’s is giving out 50 free meals for hospital workers per location per day, through May 17. To claim the 1/4 chicken with chips meal, their signature dish, workers must present valid ID or be in uniform.

Pollo Campero

Through the end of the month, the national chain will be giving out entirely free individual meals to health workers in uniform or with an ID badge.

Sweetgreen

Salad chain Sweetgreen is sending free meals directly to hospitals in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston.
