Where to grab a bite to eat before heading to the Beyoncé concert in Charlotte

Whether you’re looking for the best food spots to eat up within a reasonable walking distance of Bank of America Stadium or want some intel about what restaurants will be open before Queen Bey takes the stage at 8 p.m., rest assured, below is a list of pre-Yonce eateries.

Basil Thai Cuisine
Location: 210 N Church St, Charlotte, NC 28202
Distance: 0.7 miles
While this “refined Thai CU” spot is a 15 minute walk away, you should expect to be tempted by one of its curries served with jasmine rice, or one of its stir-fry dishes where you’ll have flavor options like garlic, ginger or sweet and sour. But keep in mind this spot is closed between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
French Quarter Restaurant

If you’re as indecisive as me or you’re headed out with a big group, this uptown Charlotte staple can most likely satisfy any craving you might have before Beyonce’s concert. The comfort food spot has options such as calamari, gumbo, burgers, gyros and pasta.

This brunch and dinner spot might just be your chance to indulge in farm fresh food and elegant cocktails. At Haymaker, some of your choices include a PB&J Pork Belly and Octopus Carpaccio, but if you’re looking to eat light before the concert, I’d go for the Haymaker Salad.
Mariposa

Mariposa is a chic uptown spot that combines mezze, North American and Mediterranean cuisine and has plenty of shareables. Try the pork bulgogi lettuce wraps and pulled duck arepas, along with larger shareables like its chipotle crusted short ribs made with creamy sweet potatoes and chimichurri.

I imagine Nefelie’s to be somewhat of a sandwich heaven. This Greek American kitchen and bar has options including gyro pitas, chicken pita, and Philly steak pitas, along with fish, chorizo and pork chop sandwiches.
