‘Where do I park my dragon?’ Check out mini castle that’s charmed Zillow Gone Wild
New fantasy favorite “House of the Dragon” has die-hard lovers of the George R.R. Martin “Game of Thrones” saga spinning in their fandom every Sunday, which is why a popular social media real estate page is focusing on sharing cool castles on the same day.
And while this particular castle in Marine on Saint Croix, Minnesota, doesn’t have the same square footage as those seen in the HBO series, it still casts a spell – a $1.99 million spell.
“Welcome to the Castle on the St Croix! This truly one-of-a-kind home is steeped in history and full of remarkable design,” the listing on Zillow.com says. “The stone house is nestled right on the river giving you un-matched access to the river and views of nature. The entire stone structure was quarried on site!”
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house is a comfortable 3,774 square feet and has been called a “private retreat” that includes most of the furniture in the sale, according to the listing.
Based on the photos, features of the house include:
Views
Spiral staircase
High ceilings
Hardwood floors
Chandeliers
The house was featured on a Zillow Gone Wild segment of Castle Sundays in honor of the “Game of Thrones” prequel show and needless to say, people were charmed.
“It has a lil observation deck that also functions as a backstabbing area, where you can plot betrayals, declare ulterior motives and push someone to their demise so you ascend the Iron Throne,” one person joked.
“It’s the best faux castle yet,” another said.
“I love this place,” someone noted. “I’d add some art, books and colorful touches, build a nice wood fire, and make a cup of tea before investigating all the good places to read.”
“Now this is (a) ‘castle’ done correctly,” one person commented. “I can actually imagine people living there. Strikes a perfect balance between comfortable and romantic.”
“More of a manor than a castle I’d say and very nicely done,” another said. “It’s both authentic and modern. It’s beautiful yet doesn’t interrupt the surroundings.”
“A Viking longboat would be a nice addition on that lake,” someone joked.
“What does the garage look like? Where do I park my dragon?” one person tweeted.
“I’m so here for this house. Inside and outside are 100% my vibes. Who wants to go all in?” another asked.
Marine on St. Croix is about 35 miles northeast of Minneapolis.
