Where is the power out? Map shows over 400,000 outages across US, including Tennessee, Arkansas

Powerful storms battered states across the country Sunday, leaving hundreds of thousands of people, particularly in the mid-South, without power.

According to PowerOutage.US, over 113,000 homes and businesses in Tennessee, and over 103,000 homes and businesses in Arkansas, were experiencing power outages as of 9:44 a.m. ET.

Additionally, over 75,000 customers were without power in Kentucky, over 62,000 were without power in Georgia and over 70,000 were without power in Michigan.

According to the National Weather Service, there is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of the mid-Atlantic through Tuesday morning. The storms threaten frequent lightning, severe thunderstorm wind gusts, hail and possibly a few tornadoes.

Parts of New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina expect to see storms and heavy rain Monday.

Nearly all of the outages reported in Tennessee are in the southwest portion of the state, specifically Shelby County.

As of 8:12 a.m. ET, there were over 98,000 outages reported in Shelby County and over 8,000 in Fayette County.

Memphis Light, Gas and Water has asked customers without power to plan for multiple days without power.

A majority of the outages reported in Arkansas are from the central part of the state.

As of 8:32 a.m. ET, Pulaski County had over 33,000 reported outages while Lonoke County had over 26,000 reported outages.

Most of the power outages reported in Kentucky are from the south-central portion of the state.

As of 8:30 a.m. ET, Barren County had nearly 10,000 reported outages while both Edmonson and Grayson counties had over 6,000 reported outages.

A little further east, Madison County had over 7,000 reported outages and Jessamine County had over 6,000 reported outages.

Most the power outages in Michigan are being reported from the southeast portion of the state.

As of 9:40 a.m. ET, Oakland County had over 21,000 reported outages while Macomb County had over 15,000 outages reported.

Further south, Washtenaw County had over 11,000 outages reported.

A majority of the power outages in Georgia are being reported from the central portion of the state.

As of 9:53 a.m. ET, DeKalb County had over 13,000 reported outages, Bibb County had over 5,000 reported outages and Henry County had over 4,000 reported outages.
