Veterans Breakfast in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH — On Thursday, Nov. 10, all Portsmouth veterans are invited to a free breakfast, 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Activity Center at 125 Cottage St. The Veterans Breakfast is an annual tradition in Portsmouth. To make a reservation (required) to attend the Veterans Breakfast, call 603-610-4433.

Celebration of Service Assembly at Oyster River Middle School

DURHAM – Oyster River Middle School Principal Jay Richard invites veterans and active service military from Durham, Lee, and Madbury to attend a Celebration of Service Assembly at the Middle School this week. The event will be held in the morning of Thursday, Nov. 10, at Oyster River Middle School, 1 Coe Drive.

All veterans and active military personnel are invited to attend. Veterans and military service members and their family members who are interested in attending are asked to click on the "Honoring A Veteran" link on the Middle School website and register using the form. Additional details will be provided to guests upon registration.

The assembly also will recognize those within the District who are committed to community service: First responders, elected representatives, City Councilors, School Board members, and volunteers who give selflessly of their time and energy. The assembly will include a slideshow recognizing local veterans and their family members.

Veterans invited to celebration at Rochester Middle School

ROCHESTER — Veterans are invited to a Veterans Day Celebration at Rochester Middle School, 46 Brock St. in Rochester on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. Parking is available at Kohl’s in Rochester and veterans will be shuttled to the Rochester Middle School starting at 12 p.m. and returning to Kohl’s around 2:45 p.m. Please do not arrive at 1 p.m., the ceremony entrance will have begun. Veterans Day ceremony in Dover

DOVER — A Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., at Dover Veterans Park. The ceremony will include an opening prayer, posting of colors, the laying of the wreath, the Dover High School Band, and Dover High School's Navy Junior ROTC. There will also be remarks by city officials, including Mayor Robert Carrier, and a guest speaker.

Wreath Laying ceremony at Goodwin Park

PORTSMOUTH —  Josh Denton, Commander of VFW Post 168, reports that Veterans Day will be commemorated in Portsmouth with a wreath-laying at the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in Goodwin Park on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. In case of rain, the event will move indoors to the Legion Post where a post-event gathering will take place for those unable to attend the outdoor ceremony.

Post Commander Denton announced that NH National Guard Commandant Major General David J. Mikolaities plans to speak at the ceremony. The commemoration includes a welcome by Mayor Deaglan McEachern, an invocation from Rev. Ellen Quaadgras from South Church, and the Portsmouth High School Clipper Band.

Veterans Day Ceremony in Milton

MILTON — A Veterans Day Ceremony will be held Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park on Dawson Street in Milton.

Bucky's Veterans Breakfast

MILTON — To honor our veterans on Friday, Nov. 11, Bucky’s Veterans Breakfast for all who have served our countrywill be two fresh local eggs from Tumble Down Farm your way, Bucky’s skillet home fries, Potters House English Muffin bread toast and NH roasters cup of coffee all for $6. 4th Annual ‘Rotarians Raise the Roof’ build

FARMINGTON — On Friday, Nov. 11, at 9 a.m., Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity will kick off the 4th Annual “Rotarians Raise the Roof” build in celebration of Veterans Day. SENH Habitat will join forces with the Rotary Club of Portsmouth and Team Rubicon on this NH Veteran family build.

SENH Habitat officially broke ground in August on this property donated by Candid Arcidy at 35 Richards Way. The team has been working hard on this veteran build alongside the family, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and supporters alike. We are grateful to Rotary, Team Rubicon, Timberland, Norm Vetter Foundations, T.W. Excavating, Northwestern Mutual, Market Square Architects and the University of New Hampshire in addition to so many others.

Tuscan Kitchen serves free meal to veterans

PORTSMOUTH — This Veterans Day Toscana Italian Chop House & Wine Bar located at 3 Pleasant St., in Portsmouth will be serving a family style meal to veterans and their guest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Veterans that live in Portsmouth are invited to join other heroic patrons and their guest for a scratch made family style meal. Guests can expect a traditional Italian feast starting with Tuscan Kitchen’s signature Penne Bolognese. For the second course, patrons will enjoy a Roast Pork Tenderloin paired with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Lastly, for dessert they’ll enjoy a freshly baked cookie and Italian dark roasted coffee.

SEACOAST – Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub will welcome veterans and active duty military as special guests on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., to receive a  free entrée from the Veterans Day menu (with the purchase of another entrée). Available for dine-in only.  Proof of service or a valid military ID required. Menu includes Baked Schrod, Country Fried Chicken, Crispy Fish Sandwich, All American Burger, Apple Cranberry Chicken Salad or Pork Carnitas Southwest Fajita Bowl.

Seacoast Wind Ensemble performs Veterans Day Concert

KITTERY, Maine — The Seacoast Wind Ensemble will perform a concert for Veterans Day: Honoring Those Who Have Served on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Star Theater in Kittery, Maine. The ensemble performs under the direction of Dr. Mark Stickney.

The program will include marches such as John Philip Sousa’s “Hands Across the Sea”, the patriotic “American Visions” by Travis Weller, “Autumn Rose” by Julie Giroux, and the major work “Symphony for Band” by Morton Gould.

The concert is free and open to the public. SWE gladly accepts donations at the door. At this time, masks are optional at Star Theater.
