Need plans for summer in El Paso? Watch family films for $5 or less at these movie theaters

Families can take advantage of some inexpensive or free movie options this summer.

Cinemark theaters

Mainly Cinemark 20 and XD and Cinemark West and XD in El Paso, will bring back its Summer Movie Clubhouse program, from June 15 through Aug. 3.

Summer Movie Clubhouse tickets will go on sale Monday, May 16, at Cinemark.com or on the Cinemark app.

Popular films will be shown at 10 a.m. each Wednesday. The program will feature the following films: "Angry Birds," DreamWorks Animation’s "The Boss Baby: Family Business," "Clifford the Big Red Dog," "Paw Patrol: The Movie," "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway," "Scoob!," "Illumination’s Sing 2" and "Tom & Jerry."

Tickets will be $1.50 per ticket, plus fees. There also will be dollar-off pricing for kids' snack packs.

Premiere Cinemas

Premiere Cinemas, at Bassett Palce, will offer free showings at 10 and 11 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays as part of its Summer Kids Series.

The film schedule: "Sonic the Hedgehog," June 15-16; "Clifford the Big Red Dog," June 22-23, "Paw Patrol the Movie," June 29-30, "The Spongebob Squarepants Movie," July July 6-7, "The Lego Movie," July 13-14, "Scoob," July 20-21, "Tom & Jerry," July 27-28, and "Space Jam 2," Aug. 3-4.

The Alamo Drafthouse

Offers its Kids Camp screenings during the summer and winter breaks. All Kids Camp tickets are $5 for everyone and each week the theaters offer a different movie, ranging from recent animated favorites to timeless classics.

Upcoming: "The Iron Giant" will be shown from May 20-25 at both Montecillo and the East location on Pellicano Drive. Times vary. www.alamodrafthouse.com.

"Minions" will be shown May 23-June 1 at both Montecillo and the East location on Pellicano Drive. Times vary.

"Tom and Jerry: The Movie" will be shown May 23, and June 4-5 at both Montecillo and the East location on Pellicano Drive. Times vary.

Horizon City

Police Department will bring back the Movies in the Park this summer at Corcoran Park, on Rodman Street off Horizon Boulevard.

The schedule: "Spiderman — No Way Home" on June 4, "Space Jam 2021" on June 18, "Encanto" on July 9, and a surprise movie on July 23.

Families can bring their blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the free showings.

Socorro

The city of Socorro will have its summer Movies Under the Stars program at Bulldog Championship Park.

The movies, which will be voted on on social media, will be shown on June 4, 25, July 16, 23, and 29.
