Hi foodies,

'Tis the season for holiday hosting, and no party is complete without a cheese board.

Luckily, Fayetteville shops have options to take your next platter to a new level — whether you share with friends and family or treat yourself (I won’t judge).

The Fresh Market offers cheese, cured meats and other food items to make a festive grazing board.

Carolina style: Danny B’s Pimento Cheese, founded in Fayetteville, offers mild and spicy varieties of the cheese spread sometimes referred to as Carolina Caviar. Find it in the deli aisle at Food Lion, The Downtown Market of FayettevillePate’s Farm Market or Gillis Hill Road Produce.

Fancy pants finds: The Fresh Market has huge selection of specialty cheeses, which are 20% off this Friday through Saturday. The store also stocks perfect pairings, like a spread made with raspberry, rose petal and Szechuan pepper; a delicious pork liver pate; and rosemary parmesan crackers.

Cheese balling on a budget: Discount grocery store Aldi has an impressive array of cheeses, including adventurous ones like blueberry-vanilla goat cheese and Cajun-spiced cheddar, plus classics like brie, gouda and Manchego. The store has everything you need for a great board, like cured meats, interesting crackers, jams, pickles and olives.

No time to waste: Want all the fun without the hassle? Locally owned downtown restaurant Bees & Boards offers charcuterie boards serving up to 15 people, including build-your-own, vegan and vegetable-forward options.

Happy eating,

Taylor
