National Frozen Custard Day is Tuesday, Aug. 8, and some area businesses are celebrating with sweet offers.

Eckert’s Belleville Farm

Eckert’s Mr. E’s Cider Donut & Custard Shop will mark the occasion on Tuesday by giving guests a free custard cone with the purchase of another cone at regular price – while supplies last, according to a press release.

In addition to custard cones, folks can enjoy sundaes, cider donuts and other sweets as well. (Sorry, no freebies there.)

Mr. E’s Cider Donut & Custard Shop is located at 951 S. Green Mount Road in Belleville. Tuesday’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Annie’s Frozen Custard

The Glen Carbon shop will offer a BOGO (buy one, get one) on all sundaes, according to owner Emily Gieszelmann. The flavor of the week will be peach.

In addition, on Aug. 18, Annie’s will begin serving Mills apple crisp – a local and huge seller, Gieszelmann added.

Uptown Scoops

Details for a National Frozen Custard Day special are still being worked out, said owner Donna Green in a brief phone interview.

Whether it’s a discount or a giveaway, Green said that the information will soon be posted to the business’ Facebook page.

Uptown Scoops is located at 403 W. Main St. in Collinsville. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and noon to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will offer a free, single-topping mini sundae to its app users who sign up for Freddy’s rewards program.

The reward will be available on the offers section of the app on Monday, Aug. 7 and will expire Friday, Aug. 11, according to a promotional email from Freddy’s spokesperson Kim Huynh.

Lion’s Choice

The St. Louis-based restaurant chain will celebrate National Frozen Custard Day by offering members of its rewards loyalty program a free large cone at any location in Illinois, Missouri or Kansas.

Participants must be signed up for the Lions Choice loyalty program before Tuesday to participate.
