The transfer portal has quickly become a new element of college football. With players having the ability to go from one school to another with no punishment, we have officially reached college football free agency.

Texas has used the portal to their advantage this offseason. The Longhorns have added multiple talented players from the portal in an effort to improve upon an ugly 5-7 season.

Landing former five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers from Ohio State was huge for Steve Sarkisian. Ewers is a great fit for what Sark wants to do of offense and will compete for the starting job from day one.

Ewers was not the only former Buckeye that Texas picked up this offseason. Defensive back Ryan Watts decided on coming home to the state of Texas after two seasons of limited playing time at Ohio State.

Most recently Texas added a weapon to its offense in Alabama transfer Jahleel Billingsley. Texas lost their top two tight ends due to graduation and the portal. Billingsley is the most experienced player Texas has brought in and will reunite with his former play-caller, Steve Sarkisian.
