WHERE THERE'S A WILL ...: Area matters duel through WR conference meet
Adyn Peugh broke through the crust of rocky competition in the 190-pound division to win a third-place medal for Bartlesville at last weekend’s Will Rogers Conference meet, held in Inola.
Peugh overwhelmed a Newkirk opponent by a major decision, 12-2, in the third-place match.
Peugh joined other Bruin teammates as top five finishers at the massive event.
At 120 pounds, Emanuel Camacho finished up by knocking off a Tonkawa rival by decision, 4-2, in the fifth-place match.
Colton Hainzinger (215) wrestled six matches, finishing up with a loss by decision, 11-5, by a loss in the fifth-place battle to a Grove foe.
Two other area teams also scrapped at the event, Barnsdall and Pawhuska.
Barnsdall boasted the only conference champion — Easton Malone at 215 pounds.
Malone planted an Inola opponent in the championship match (2:43) at 215 pounds.
Pawhuska placed one matter — Deacon Hendren at 157 pounds. He pinned a Grove opponent in just 22 seconds in the third-place scrap.
Following is how the grapplers from all three area schools fared.
