With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it is time to start thinking about where to bring that special someone when the holiday rolls around. Nothing beats enjoying your significant other’s company and there are several restaurants in the Norwich area that bring about romantic vibes.

The Bulletin asked readers in a Facebook post which restaurants in the Norwich area they believe are the best spots for a Valentine’s Day date. Several eateries were even recognized by readers more than once.

So, whether you have been married for decades or this is your first Valentine’s Day as a couple, these Norwich area spots are sure to be romantic places for a date.

Kensington’s at Norwich Inn, 607 West Thames Street, Norwich

After enjoying a day at the spa, curb your hunger at Kensington’s Restaurant located off the lobby in The Spa at Norwich Inn.

In addition to their regular menu, Kensington’s will be offering a number of Valentine’s Day specials from Wednesday, Feb. 14 through Saturday, Feb. 17.

The Valentine’s Day specials are baked oysters, a fried poached egg and cacio e pepe, grilled artichoke hearts, chicken and duck rollatini, maple bacon scallops and lamb marsala.

Canggio Restaurant/Bar, 20 Lafayette Street, Norwich

A Valentine’s Day menu has yet to be revealed, however this Peruvian restaurant pulled out all the stops for the holiday last year.

Diners were treated to a three-course meal, which included options such as pan seared scallops, crab meat stuffed lobster tails and chocolate cake.

These Guys Brewing Company, 78 Franklin Street, Norwich

These Guys Brewing Company will be running their Valentine’s Day menu in addition to their regular dining menu starting on Wednesday, Feb. 14 and continuing through the weekend while supplies last.

The special menu includes starters such as coconut shrimp with apricot marmalade and main courses like the 14 ounce rib eye steak with house made onion rings.

4G’s Restaurant and Pizza, 305 Hartford Pike, Dayville

Enjoy a slice of pizza with your significant other this Valentine’s Day, or order one of the many other items from 4G’s extensive menu. They also have salads, soups, pasta, seafood, sandwiches, grinders and calzones.

The restaurant was expected to finalize their Valentine’s Day specials approximately one week before the holiday. Among last year’s Valentine’s Day specials were the giant four ounce meatball, crab salad roll and The Spicy Lover Margarita.

Tulli’s Taphouse, 259 Preston Road, Griswold

This year’s Valentine’s Day menu was still in the works as of Monday afternoon, however last year’s menu featured several romance-themed items. This included the love salad, which featured iceberg lettuce, cooked salami, provolone cheese, tomato, parmesan, oil as well as vinegar and garlic.

In addition to small plates, last year’s Valentine’s Day menu included entrées such as beef wellington and spaghetti and meatballs. Diners could conclude their meal with either the chocolate pretzel roll bread pudding or Italian hot chocolate.

Tables are available on a first-come first-served basis, however it is recommended that parties of eight or more call ahead.
