Where Veterans can eat for free on Veterans Day

As a special thank you on Veterans Day, various restaurants in Ashland and Wayne counties are offering free meals for those who are serving or have served have our country.

Ashland County:The South Street Grille in Ashland - Will be offering a free burger or handheld with tots/fries/slaw to active or retired member of the military on Saturday.Jeromesville Pizza House in Jeromesville - Serving all veterans a free large pizza with up to three items. Pizza must be purchased between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday.Ashland Mayor Miller's Annual Veteran's Day Breakfast - Held at the Eagles Club in Ashland, the fifth annual Mayor's Veterans Day Breakfast will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Saturday. All of the community's military service members and their guests will be provided with a free breakfast.

Hillsdale Local Schools - Will hold a complimentary breakfast for veterans on Nov. 10 during the unveiling of the district's Veterans Memorial.

Wayne County:American Legion Post #68 in Wooster - Offering a free dinner for all veterans and active service members as well as their families. The event, which is hosted by Women's Service Club, will be held on Thursday from 5-6:30 p.m. Pasta, salad, and cookies will be served.

Nationwide Deals For Veterans this Weekend

Along with local restaurant deals, national chains will be offering some free meals or deals for military service members (active and veterans) on Saturday as well. The deals do require military IDs to be presented.

Applebee's - Active-duty military, veterans, reserves, and National Guard that dine-in will get a complimentary full-size entree from a special menu. They will then receive a $5 Bounce Back Card to redeem for dine-in as well as To Go, or delivery within a three-week redemption window.

BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse - Veterans with a valid military ID, who dine-in on Nov. 11, will receive a free Chocolate Chunk Pizookie with any $9.95 or more purchase. Veterans who also spend more than $14.95 for dine in or takeout on Saturday will receive a "bounce back" coupon for a free appetizer. The coupon will be valid for Nov. 12 to Dec. 31.

Bob Evans - Dine-in only active-duty military and veterans will receive a free meal from a select menu.

Buffalo Wild Wings - Active-duty and veteran members will receive a complimentary entrée from the menu on Saturday. The entrée must have a value of up to $17.99. Military ID must be presented.

Chili's - Dine-in active-duty service members and veterans will recieve a free meal from a selected menu.

Dunkin' Donuts - In-store only veterans and active-duty military will get a free donut. However, this is only for participating locations.

IHOP - Active-duty military and veterans will receive free Red, White, & Blueberry pancakes or Pancake Combo. They must dine-in at a participating location from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Little Caesar's - Veterans and active-duty military will receive a free lunch combo at participating stores from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a in-store only deal.

Outback Steakhouse - Veterans and active-duty military will receive a free Bloomin' Onion and beverage with purchase of an adult entree. Must be dine-in.

Red Robin - Veterans and active-duty military dining in will receive a free Red's Big Tavern Burger with endless steak fries.

Starbucks - Veterans, military service members and military spouses will receive a free tall hot or cold brewed coffee. Must be at a participating location.

Texas Roadhouse - Active-duty military and veterans dining in will get to pick an item from a special menu or they will receive a meal voucher that will be good for dine in or carry out until May 30, 2024. Must be done between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
