On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, restaurants across the Valley are showing their appreciation for the men and women who serve and have served in the U.S. military with special perks, discounts and free food and drink.

All offers are available to active duty military and veterans for one day only on Thursday, Nov. 11, except where noted, and proper identification may be required to receive the deals.

Free meal at Original Breakfast House

Any active duty military personnel, veteran, nurse or first responder can receive a free meal off the regular menu on Nov. 11. Everyone can enjoy the pancake breakfast held in the entertainment area outside as part of the restaurant’s annual Veterans Day party. The pancake breakfast features pancakes, eggs, bacon, ham, sausage and coffee ($10, adults, $5 for ages $12 and younger) and the party includes a vintage car show on the grass, live music from the Joshua Stone Band in the parking lot and a patriot presentation by the Refuge Teen Center.

This year, proceeds from the event will benefit Tunnel to Towers Tempe, a nonprofit organization founded in honor of Firefighter Stephen Siller who lost his life in the line of duty on Sept. 11, 2001. The organization will match Original Breakfast House’s donations up to $5,000. Guests can also make direct donations all day at the restaurant in support of this cause.
