Where Forbes ranks Warriors among most valuable franchises originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

The Warriors are the second-most valuable NBA team, and rank among the 10 most lucrative professional sports franchises in the world.

Forbes unveiled the latest rankings of the most valuable organizations in the world, and the Warriors are sixth, worth an estimated $4.7 billion. The Los Angeles Lakers are one spot behind the Warriors with a $4.6 billion valuation (seventh overall).

Two international soccer teams, an MLB and NFL franchise, and then the New York Knicks all rank ahead of the Warriors. The Dallas Cowboys top the list with a valuation of $5.7 billion.

The Warriors by far have grown the most over the past five years among the top 10, with the team's value increasing 147 percent in that time frame.

It is no coincidence that the Warriors opened a brand-new, privately funded arena on the banks of the San Francisco Bay in 2019. The team also won NBA championships in 2017 and 2018 prior to the move across the Bay.

What a decade it has been for the franchise.
